James Rayburn

James Kenneth Rayburn, 91 of Little Rock, passed away on September 29, 2012. Born February 3, 1921 in Ashdown, Arkansas, he was preceded in death by his parents, James Albert and Ethel Fisher Rayburn, and his wife, Elizabeth Hughes Rayburn. He is survived by his children: Jimmy Lynn Rayburn of Watauga, Texas; Joyce Rayburn Greene of Montclair, California; Jill Rayburn Harris (Michael) of Little Rock; two grandsons, Samuel Rayburn Greene and David Isaac Greene of Montclair; and his sister Helen Rayburn Hronas of Little Rock.
Ken served honorably in WWII in the China-Burma-India theatre for four years at the rank of Staff Sgt. He retired from Olin-Mathieson Chemical Corp. He loved being outdoors, hunting, fishing, gardening, and puttering in his workshop where he created bluebird houses among other projects.
Ken had been an active member of Mabelvale Missionary Baptist Church. The family wishes to thank his caregiver, Anetta Molina, for her compassionate care, and also Arkansas Hospice. In lieu of flowers, friends may wish to donate to Mabelvale Missionary Baptist Church or a charity of their choice.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at First Missionary Baptist Church Mabelvale and burial following at Pinecrest Memorial Park Cemetery.
