James "Rabbit" Rettig

James “Rabbit” Rettig, age 76, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2024. He was born on July 28, 1948, to Edward and Mable Rettig in Beebe, Arkansas. Rabbit was an avid hunter and fisherman, and he loves spending time with his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Charles and Carthal, one sister Dorothy, and a grandson, Stephen.

Rabbit is survived by his wife, Peggy Rettig; his children, Jamey (Susan) Rettig, Jimmy (Jennifer) Rettig, and Rex Ingle; 9 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; 5 sisters, Barbara (Manuel), Brenda (Doug), Peggy, Ann (Bennett), Erma; one brother, Steve (Tonya); as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at Hickory Plains Cemetery, under the pavilion. Graveside Service follows at 11:00 a.m. To view the online obituary, please visit www.smithfamilycares.com
