James Russell Smith, 70, of Little Rock, passed away June 8, 2011. He was born in Blytheville, Arkansas to Thurman M. and Emma Peterson Smith. He was of the Pentecostal faith.
Preceded in death by his parents, he is survived by his wife, Brenda Plasters Smith; daughter, Gwen Smith; son, Jesse Smith; daughter, Melany Hayes (Mike); and grandchildren, Bryan Swanigan, Jaylon Williams, Valerie Smith, Brandon Smith, Jessica Hayes and Jennifer Withers (Anthony).
Services will be held on Saturday, June 11, at 2:00 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.), officiated by Pastor Melvin L. Clifford, followed by interment at Arkansas Memorial Gardens in North Little Rock. Visitation will be Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Christian Life Center, 12923 W. Markham, Little Rock, AR 72211.
