James Ronald Scoles

James Ronald Scoles, born on September 1, 1944, in Casa, Arkansas, passed away on May 17, 2025, in Conway, Arkansas. He lived a life full of purpose, working at Green Bay Packaging, from which he eventually retired. James was not only dedicated to his career but also found joy in giving back to his community as a volunteer with the Bigelow Fire Department. He also served in the United States Army during the Korean War.

He was a proud member of the Bigelow Church of Christ and the 3D Hunting Club, reflecting his deep ties to both faith and the outdoors. James was known as a skilled craftsman, taking pride in his work and hobbies.

James leaves behind a loving family. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Sidney Scoles of Bigelow; his sister, Sally Smith (Kenneth) of Sheridan; children, Kathryn Akers (Robert) of Sherwood, Kimberly Carney (Jamie) of Russellville, Roger Scoles (Rachael) of Conway; grandchildren Krystal Marvel (Brandon), Kristopher Green (Jordan), David Elmore (Austin), Kane Elmore (Mallory), Kylen Carney (Kimberelee), Megan Mann (Logan), Grayson Scoles, Hannah Tomaskovic, Andrew Tomaskovic; and great grandchildren, Jaylin, Kayson, Everly, Brayden, Raylan, Kayson, Archer, Lynus, Axel, Waylon, and Ellie Jayde.

James was preceded in death by his father, Johnnie Scoles; mother, Lealau Scoles; and brothers, Randy Scoles, Stanley Harlow, Donald Scoles, Larry Scoles; and one granddaughter, Hailey Carney.

Visitation will be held on May 22, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Smith Family Funeral Home Conway Chapel, followed by a graveside service beginning at 12:45 PM with Military Honors at Vollman Cemetery in Bigelow, AR. James Scoles will be remembered for his dedication to family, community, and a life well-lived.

Pallbearers: Kristopher Green, David Elmore, Kane Elmore, Grayson Scoles, Brandon Marvel, and Andrew Tomaskovic.

Honorary Pallbearers: Mr. Lee Nutt and Mr. Dale Birdwell.
