James Raymond Settle, Sr.

James Raymond Settle, Sr., 86, of Sherwood, Arkansas passed away June 19, 2024. He was born January 24, 1938, in North Little Rock, Arkansas to the late George and Pearl Settle. 

Jim is preceded in death by his loving wife of over 65 years, Carol Settle; son, James Settle, Jr.; and brother, Bob Settle. He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Brewer (Jeff); grandchildren, Jared Selby (Sami), Josh Selby, and Zach Settle (Shana); great-grandchildren, Amber, Emarie, Rivers, Mayleigh, Harper, and Shelbi; along with a host of family and friends. 

Jim graduated from North Little Rock High School in 1956. He was a longtime member of Geyer Springs First Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. Jim served in the Army National Guard for eight years in the 212th Signal Battalion. 

Jim started Settle Office Products in 1982 and successfully ran the family business for over 36 years alongside his wife and children. Before starting his own business, he worked for James Brothers Office Supply. All of his customers at Settle Office Products became family to Jim. He enjoyed catching up with all of his customers anytime they were in the store. 

In his spare time, Jim enjoyed woodworking and crafting. Family was very important and you could often find him at his grandkids sporting events. They were all very special to him. 

Funeral service will be held at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at Smith North little Rock Funeral Home (1921 Main Street) with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Rest Hills Memorial Park. Visit www.smithfamilycares.com for the online obituary and guestbook.
