James R. Williams age 78 of Arkadelphia died Wednesday, July 24, 2013. He was born June 2, 1935 in Clark County the son of Howard Ruben and Lucille Smothers Williams. He was retired from Reynolds/Alcoa and a member of the Third Street Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a brother, Kendall Williams.
Survivors include his wife Kathleen Ivy Williams, two sons, Dean (Cheryl) Williams of Sherwood and Byron (Kim) Williams of Bismarck, four brothers, Roy Joe (Rita) Williams of Arkadelphia, Donald Williams of Little Rock, Charles (Kim) Williams of Katy, TX, and Jackie (Charlotte) Williams of Alexander, AR, three sisters, Jean Higgins of Little Rock, Judy (Ron) Bartlett of Sherwood and Mary Hayden of Bryant, six grandchildren, Garrett, Tess, Cameron, Haley, and McKenzie Williams and Hope Seelinger, and 2 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2 PM Saturday, July 27 in the Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Chapel with Rev. Charlie Williams officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Friday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Henderson State Baseball Program C/O Coach Cody Hooten, 1100 Henderson St., Arkadelphia, AR 71923.
