James Wilson

Listen to Obituary
James V. Wilson, age 93, of Beebe was born April 17, 1924 and went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 14, 2017.
Jim was in Textile Sales most of his career; much of his time was spent at the Ely & Walker Company, where he was a top salesman and won many awards. Even after his retirement, he continued to work up until the age of 81. He sold cars for a number of years and his last employment opportunity was with the city of Searcy. He supervised prisoners in their work release programs. Over the years, Jim served as choir director for several churches, and was a man of great faith. He loved his church and his pastor, Reverend Bob Hall. Jim was a proud United States Army Veteran of World War II. He was in the D-day invasion and served on the front lines during battle in Germany for 8 months.
Jim is survived by his wife of 13 years, Dianna Campbell Wilson of Beebe; daughters, Susan Herrin of Marion, Cheryl (Steve) Magdefrau of Harrison; sons, Reverend Stan (Dianna) Wilson of Maumelle, Alan (Mary) Wilson of Dallas, Texas; step-daughter, Kristy (Adam) Poe of Beebe; six grandchildren, Kathy (Brad) McGee of Marion, Eric Wilson of Maumelle, Emily (Evan) Piechocki of Shannon Hills, Alex Wilson of Dallas, Texas, Melissa and Matthew Magdefrau of Harrison. Jim loved Dianna's grandchildren, Molly Poe of Beebe and Madelyn (Morgan) Hawley of Walnut Ridge, as if they were his own. Jim also has three great-grandchildren Emma McGee, Ethan and Emmett Piechocki.
Jim was preceded in death by his first wife, Janice Wilson and parents, Reverend Santford and Rosa Wilson. Jim was the last of his generation of Wilsons as he is preceded in death by all seven of his siblings; brothers, John, Leo, Robert, and Lloyd Wilson; sisters, Louisa Goacher, Fluella Key, Jessie Woodruff and son in law, Joe Herrin of Searcy.
