Janell Adams-Skates

Janell Adams-Skates, 86, was born on January 2, 1937, to Lloyd and Thelma Newton in Cobb, Oklahoma.

She died Tuesday morning in her home in Pearcy, Arkansas.

Janell was a loving mother, nana, sister, and aunt who spent her time being around family, playing the keyboard, and worshiping her lord and savoir.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 46 years, Harold “Bud” Adams, son, Randy Adams, sister, Dretha Goodwin, and brother, Jimmy Newton.

She is survived by her sons, Gary, Barry, and Bart Adams, daughter, Pam Meeks, sisters Kay Holland and Elaine Slater, and brother, Wayne Newton. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be held Friday, July 21 at 11 a.m. with Bishop Dennis Anderson officiating in the Apostolic Faith Tabernacle under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Home, Hot Springs.

Burial to follow at Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Durant Adams, Tom Adams, Dustin Meeks, Jared Dragon, Shon Holland, Justin Brown, and Nathan Wright.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dayne Banker, Nathan Brown, Levi Adams, and Shane Dragon.
