Janette Stricklin, 71, of North Little Rock passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2007. She was of the Baptist faith and past state president of the Ladies Auxiliary to the VFW. She held all positions from the post president to the state president during her 32 years of services to the VFW and Ladies Auxiliary Post 9095.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Jimmie Ruth Walker; mother, Elsie Strickland, grandchild, Scott M. Overby and brothers, James and Mark Strickland. She is survived by her husband, Odell Stricklin; children, Rick Hudspeth, Brenda Ferriel, both of North Little Rock, Sandy Hudspeth and Janice Porter, both of Vicksburg, Mississippi; step children, Ryan Stricklin and Eilleen Stevens, both of Denver, Colorado; brothers, Bill Strickland, of Baker, Florida, William Strickland, of Benton, J.W. Strickland, of Little Rock and Bobby Strickland, of Lonoke; sisters, Margaret Clements, of Bruinswick, Georgia, Yvonne Chamberlin, of Ashland, Ohio and Betty Kinder, of Traskwood; fourteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M., Friday at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Larry Ballard. Burial will be in Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery.
