Janice Louise Hughes

December 4, 1953 — April 21, 2023

Benton

Janice Louise Hughes, 69, of Benton, Arkansas passed away April 21, 2023.  She was born December 4, 1953 in Los Angeles, California to James French and Margie Howell.

Janice was the most patient, kind, strong, amazing woman.  She went through a lot for the husband and children, yet still stayed strong.  You couldn’t ask for a better mother.  She showed unconditional love in all situations.  Janice enjoyed sewing, cooking, and decorating beautiful cakes.  She loved the Lord and would find a way to go to church-even if she had to walk.  Janice was very determined, family focused, and adored her grandchildren.  Her great sense of humor helped her always see the positive things in life.

Janice was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Hughes; great-grandson, Elijah Hughes; father, James French; and mother, Margie Howell.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children:  Bryan Hughes (Shelley) of Clinton, Arkansas, Amanda Rogers of Benton, Arkansas who took such great care of her for the last year, and Julie Richmond of Little Rock, Arkansas; grandchildren:  Katie, Erica, Corina, Avery, Jacob, Hannah, and Cricket; 8 great-grandchildren and one on the way; brothers:  Mark French (Larua) of Tennessee and Michael French of Heber Springs, Arkansas; sister, June Hughes of Washington; and a host of family and friends who love Janice and will miss her always.

A Celebration of Janice’s Life, officiated by Pastor Jim Whitley, will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, May 4, at New Beginnings Apostolic Church, 407 Prickett Road, Bryant, Arkansas.
