Janice Claire Krauser, also known as Wife, Mother, Bonus Mom, Aunt, Grandma and friend- gracefully passed this life on August 29, after a long journey with dementia. She was preceded in death by her loving husband- Philip of 54 years. Life was never quite the same after she lost the love of her life. They met in Ft. Lauderdale only to find out that they lived 20 minutes apart from each other in Cincinnati where she was born and raised by Marcella and Raymond Godar. Our mother was primarily a homemaker raising 3 children while Dad traveled for business. She loved being a part of her kid’s swim team days as a timer and part-time coach. Our parents retired to Florida to live close to her beloved beach. It was her happy place and she spent many days relaxing in the sun. She was fortunate to travel around the world and have many new experiences. If you knew her, you knew she loved her Kentucky Wildcats and all that blue!
In the later years, dementia would begin to take her a little bit at a time. One of the hardest things you’ll ever have to do is grieve the loss of someone who is still alive. Sundown Syndrome that agitated state Pacing, fidgeting Asking the same questions…Our patience would wear thin After the 100th time But we take a breath and answer once more because “we love you!”
She is survived by her 3 children who loved her very much: Traci Etheridge (Mac) of Maumelle, Sherri Stallings (Kirk) of Louisville, KY and Todd Krauser (Stephanie) of Maumelle. She is also survived by her 7 grandchildren, who were her pride and joy, and called them her “little munchkins!” She always sent them cards with special notes and sticks of gum, had special nicknames and adorable songs that she would only sing to them. She definitely loved you all “a bushel and a peck!” Christina Rhoades (Nick), Carley Krauser, Clay Etheridge, Regan Etheridge (Jeff) all of Maumelle, Austin Stallings, Louisville, KY, Hannah Stallings, Birmingham, AL, and Sophie Stallings, Milwaukee, WI. Next came her great-grands and she became JJ! It was so beautiful that she got to be a part of their lives- Connor, Lucas and Charlotte Rhoades, JJ adored and loved you all very much. Jan is also survived by a large family of brother and sister in-laws and a host of nieces and nephews, all of Cincinnati, along with her dear cousins Joe Wegman (Susan) also of Cincinnati, and Cheryl Glova (Sam) of Charlotte, NC.
Our family would like to thank the caring and loving staff at Mira Community Living in Maumelle for providing exceptional care to our mom during this last year. We are so grateful for your love and tender loving hearts.
We would also like to extend our gratitude and appreciation to the staff at Arkansas Hospice- especially Michelle and Tiesha, who went above and beyond to make our mom comfortable.
In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Arkansas Hospice or Alzheimer's Arkansas
