Janice Ostedgaard

November 1, 1926 — March 1, 2019

Janice Ostedgaard

Janice McNeill Ostedgaard, 92, of North Little Rock went to meet her Heavenly Father on March 1, 2019. She was a member of Lakewood United Methodist Church where she was awarded Special Mission Recognition from the United Methodist Women for 2014.  She was also Devotional Leader for the Mary-Martha Circle and a member of the Prayer Team at the church.

Janice was preceded in death by her husband Al Ostedgaard, and her parents. Survivors are her two children, Cheryl Ann Widder (David) of Blacksburg, VA and Greg Ostedgaard (Cindy) of Greenbrier, AR. Four grandchildren, Jenny Quakenbush (Brian) of Roanoke, VA, Janna Blakeney (Kris) of Ararat, NC, Tiffany Brown of Conway and Michael Middleton (Leigh) of Conway. She also is survived by nine great grandchildren.

Janice graduated from NLR High School (Ole Main) and attended Lindenwood College in St. Charles, MO then transferring to the University of Iowa where she met her husband, Al.

Janice was a member of the Junior League of NLR. She was a big Razorback fan and a former member of the Road Hogs RV Club. A graduate of John Robert Powers Modeling School in Dallas, TX, she modeled for many stores in Little Rock and also wrote special fashion articles for the Arkansas Gazette and NLR Times newspapers.

She and Al loved traveling in their 40 ft RV, meeting new friends on caravans and spending time with her family. Family trips were planned nearly every year because it was important to her to have close family time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Our mother’s love, faith, caring and devotion made this world a better place.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 8, at 12:00p.m. in Gibson Hall of Lakewood United Methodist Church followed at 1:00p.m. by her funeral service in the church sanctuary, the Reverend Luke Conway officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Hills Cemetery.

Honorary Pallbearers are Dr. Amail Chudy, Jason, Sam and Drew Quakenbush, Kevin Blakeney and Kaleb Holliman.

The family would like to express special thanks to Dianne Worthen and her family for tender loving care of both Janice and Al.  Also to Jacklin and Randall Purtle, Sharon Foster, Dr. Robert Cheek, the cardiology staff at UAMS, especially Dr. Joe Bisset, Tony Moore and the Medtronics staff, and all members of the Mary-Martha Circle and Prayer Team at Lakewood United Methodist Church. God blessed her with many wonderful friends that she treasured so much. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lakewood United Methodist Building Fund, 1922 Topf Rd.
