Jasper Lee Bell, age 86, after a lengthy illness, passed away at his home in Lonoke, Arkansas on August 16, 2024. Jasper was born in Des Arc, Arkansas on June 13, 1938, to William Albert and Elizabeth Livesay Bell. He graduated from Des Arc High School in 1957. In June of the same year, he married his high school sweetheart Freida Thomas, daughter of Oakley and Mae Thomas. They were married for 67 years.
Jasper and Freida, with their son Jay, moved to Lonoke, Arkansas in 1961 to pursue a career in farming. Later, in 1964, another son Chris was born. After retiring from farming, he bought an eighteen-wheeler truck, which he drove cross-country until retiring in 2004.
Jasper is survived by his wife Freida and two sons, Jay (Brenda) and Chris (Jamie); four grandsons, Heath (Rachael), Logan (Adriana), Landon and Sawyer Bell; three great-grandsons, Brody, Oakley and Brooks Bell, three great-granddaughters, Kylee, Braylee, and Abbie Bell; and nephew Lee Bell (son of his deceased brother, Walter Bell).
He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Elizabeth; brother, Walter; and nephew Craig Bell.
Many family members in Des Arc mourns his passing.
A Memorial Service will be held at First Brownsville Baptist Church, Tuesday, August 20th at 2:00 p.m. The visitation is one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m., also at the church. Burial at Brownsville Cemetery.
