Javis Davis age 68 of Bearden died Wednesday, April 15, 2009 in Little Rock. He was born March 7, 1941 in Thornton, Arkansas the son of the late Elmer and Mary Davis. He was one of Jehovah's Witnesses, retired from Bearden Lumber Co. and U. S. Air Force Veteran. His wife, Zona Davis preceded him in death on February 24, 2009.
Survivors include four sons, Joel Gray of Bearden AR; Billy Gray of Denver, CO; John D. Davis of Sparkman, AR; David Davis of Hot Springs, AR; one daughter, Vicky Davis of Thornton, AR; two brothers, Russell Davis of Bearden, AR; James Davis of Louisiana; one sister, Bonnie Bower of Fordyce, AR; six grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Friday, April 17, 2009 at Caddo Valley Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses with Russ Walker officiating. Burial will be in Lono Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Thursday at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia.
