J.C. Shannon

J.C. Shannon, 66, of El Paso, Arkansas, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ after a long battle with cancer, on August 5, 2013 surrounded by his family. He was a retired Toyota auto technician/service manager of 33 years and a maintenance technician at CertainTeed Roofing. He was a devoted member of the Oak Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Pat Shannon; his mother Verma Beatrice Furgerson Shannon and father Marvin Malone Shannon both of Vilonia, AR.
J.C. is survived by three sons, John Shannon and wife Lori of Beebe, Billy Shannon and wife Holly of El Paso, Curtis Shannon and wife Sarah of Beebe; six grandchildren, Dalton, Garrett, Katie, Johnna, Lakyn and Linley Shannon; seven sisters; Alice Traynor and husband Don of Fort Smith, Terry Branscum of Howe, OK, Mildred Atkinson of Vilonia, Vickie Narajo of McAllister, OK, Lena Mansker of Vilonia, Virginia Lytle of Hot Springs, and Joy Watson of San Antonio, TX; and a whole host of loving extended family and friends.
Special thanks to Dr. Omer Khalil and the staff of Arkansas Oncology for their care and compassion. Memorials may be made to the El Paso Community Ballpark, The J.C. Shannon Field, c/o Roy Dale Breckenridge, 203 Oak Church Rd., El Paso, AR 72045.
Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, at Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. Funeral will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 7, 2013, at Oak Church of Christ in El Paso, with burial in Grissard Cemetery. Arrangements by Westbrook, a Smith Family Funeral Home.
