Jerry Dale Chism, 66, passed away July 4, 2015 at his home in Scott, Arkansas after a long illness. He was born June 18, 1949 to Cecil Earl and Ruth Marie Crone Chism.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 40 years, Kathy Hooper Chism; sons, Jerry Paul Chism (Kristina) of Cabot, Arkansas, Carry Chism (Rachelle) of North Little Rock, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Emma Rose, Kolton Drayke, Hunter Jayce of Cabot, Arkansas, and McKenna of North Little Rock, Arkansas; sister, Thelma Sawyer of Wyoming, Michigan; brother Jimmy Chism (Sharon) of Harrison, Arkansas; Uncle Randall and Aunt Sadie Rhoades of Redmond, Washington; nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Billie Pemberton of Harrison, Arkansas
Jerry was a carpenter most of his life; former owner of Chism & Son Construction, Chism Trail B.P. Station and Café and Farmers Market Café in North Little Rock, Arkansas. He was the builder of several churches, the developer of Chism Acres and the builder of several homes in Scott and surrounding areas.
He loved horses and cattle but most of all he loved his grandchildren.
He was a lifelong member of the Scott United Pentecostal Church where he served on the board of Trustee until his passing. There will be an empty place in the third pew from the back, in the center section, of the Scott Church.
He will be missed greatly by his family and close friends. The church will miss his "hallelujahs", "praises", and his faithfulness. He always hoped that someone would be touched by his life. Many people have been touched.
Memorials may be made to Hospice Home Care.
