Jerry Franklin Fleenor, age 79, passed away peacefully, Friday, August 15, 2025. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and traveling. His real passion was his work. He was a heavy equipment operator at Camp Robinson in North Little Rock. He loved his job and all of his friends dearly. Jerry never met a stranger and was loved by all. He worked there for 49 years.
Jerry entered the United States Airforce in 1966. He served in the Vietnam War for 4 years from 1966 through 1970, during those years he spent two of those years in U- Tapao, Thailand. After leaving the Airforce, he went into the Arkansas Army National Guard where he served for 33 years, one weekend a month at Camp Robinson. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Sam and Daisy Elkins and Robert and Mae Fleenor of Cabot; and parents, H.P. and Doris Fleenor of Gravel Ridge.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Rosemarie Fleenor; sister, Debbie (Fleenor) Ross; two sons, Jerry H. Fleenor (Holly) and James S. Fleenor; two grandchildren, Jerry H. Fleenor Jr. (April) and Jamie Linn Fleenor (Carson Waters); one great grandchild, Emmit H. Fleenor; nephew, Josh Fox; along with many other nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Thursday, August 21, 2025 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Smith Family Funeral Home, 1921 Main St., North Little Rock, AR 72114. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 22, 2025, at 10:15 a.m. at The Connection Church of Sherwood, 14322 Hwy. 107, Gravel Ridge, AR 72076 followed by interment at 12:00 p.m. at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, 1501 W. Maryland Ave., North Little Rock, AR 72120.
The family would like to acknowledge and give a special Thank You to the VA Interventional Radiology staff, Little Rock; and Arkansas Hospice, Searcy. In lieu of flowers, friends may make donations to The Connection Church of Sherwood in Jerry’s honor.
