Jerry Lee Luker, owner and operator of Arkansas Hearing Aid Service since 1958, went to be with our Lord on Monday, July 7, 2025, in North Little Rock, Arkansas. Born August 2nd, 1937 to Earl and Dorothy Luker in McAlester, Oklahoma. He grew up on a farm surrounded by 4 hard-working brothers and 1 sister, Levi, E.J., Guy, Kenneth and Wanda.
He graduated from Haileyville High School where his talent as an artist led the school to adopt his logo for the Haileyville Warriors that still stands to this day. He worked his way through college at Eastern Oklahoma State majoring in business and studying art, where he gained high praise from his professor for his sculpture of a live model.
He served 6 years in the United States Army, and later married Barbara Jean Prowse. He started Arkansas Hearing Aid Service in 1958, then proudly announced the births of his daughter, Karla in 1963 and then his son, Gregg in 1968.
Jerry was a dedicated and passionate man who devoted himself to his career and family. He had a profound commitment to his clients, he not only provided them with essential services, but often went above and beyond, graciously covering the costs for those who could not afford hearing aids. He served as president of The Arkansas Hearing Aid Society from 1981 to 1984.
He attended Park Hill Baptist Church and had an exuberant personality that drew people to him; he never met a stranger and could engage anyone in Conversation. Jerry was known for his humor and storytelling, captivating friends and family with tales from his life. Those warm memories of laughter will be cherished forever by all those who knew him.
He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Jerry is survived by his beloved son, Gregg Luker (Laura); Granddaughter, Emelia Luker, daughter, Karla Ehemann; grandson, Evan Ehemann; and great grandsons, Eli and Levi Ehemann. Also surviving him are his cherished sister, Wanda Smith (Bill), and his brother, Kenneth Luker. Jerry re-unites in Heaven with his parents, Earl and Dorothy Luker, granddaughter, Korie Ehemann, and brothers, E.J., Guy, and Levi Luker, who welcome him into eternal peace.
In recognition of his life, family and friends are invited to come together to celebrate Jerry’s legacy. Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 15, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, followed by a funeral service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, both at Smith Family Funeral Home in North Little Rock, Arkansas.
