Jerry M. Montgomery

Jerry M. Montgomery, age 77, of Kirby, passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2026.

He was born on August 6, 1948 to Elmer N. Montgomery and Evey Keenom Montgomery. He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Ray Montgomery; and his sister Retta Montgomery Richardson.

Jerry was a man of many hats and had a life well lived. To those who knew him, Jerry was more than just one thing. He was a Vietnam Veteran, a dedicated farmer, an airplane pilot, a scuba diver, a truck driver, a police officer, and heavy equipment operator. He was a man who worked hard, loved to dance, and could always make us smile with his jokes. 

He is survived by his daughter, Judie Tisdell (Ricky Potter); his five grandchildren, Garrett Dobbs, Shantella Dobbs, Chelsea Dobbs, Sabrina Dobbs, and Dustin Dobbs; his fifteen great-grandchildren; his brother, Joe B. Montgomery; his sister, Wanda M. Montgomery; his "adopted daughter," Andrea Holder; and many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and a host of wonderful friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 17, 2026 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel- Glenwood.

Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026 at 10:00 AM at Reed Cemetery with Brian Holder officiating.
