Jerry W. Adams, born on June 30, 1943, in Newark, Arkansas, raised in McCrory, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2025. A dedicated professional and a loving family man, Jerry's legacy will live on.
Family meant everything to Jerry. He cherished his wife of 53 years, Margaret Adams, and took great pride in his sons, Jason (Jennifer) Adams and Grant (Nichole) Adams. As a grandfather, he delighted in the lives of his grandchildren: Jackson Adams, Ansley Adams, and Alex Adams. Jerry’s love for his family was a guiding force and an unwavering source of joy in his life.
Jerry served honorably in the Air Force for four years, a testament to his dedication and patriotism. This experience contributed to the values he held dear throughout his life, including the importance of family and community.
Education played an important role in Jerry's life. He graduated from McCrory High School in 1961 and furthered his studies at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration in 1970. His commitment to learning laid the foundation for his successful life.
As the CEO of several hospitals across the Southeast, Jerry was renowned for his exceptional talent in turnarounds. His leadership in healthcare transformed many organizations, solidifying his reputation as a dynamic leader. His impact on those he worked with and the communities he served will be remembered with deep admiration.
He is survived by his loving family, including his brothers: Dick Adams of Pennsylvania, Don Adams of Arkansas, and Jim Adams of Georgia. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Otis and Mildred Adams, as well as siblings: Dale Adams, Betty Killingsworth, Mary Willis, Amos Adams, and Bill Adams.
A visitation will be held in his honor on Saturday, May 24, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 PM, both taking place at Highland Valley United Methodist located at 15524 Chenal Pkwy, Little Rock, AR 72211.
Jerry W. Adams leaves behind a profound legacy of love, service, and dedication that will continue to resonate within the lives he touched throughout his journey. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
