Jesse Lee Slatton

Jesse Slatton – He was loved by many and he loved without reservation. Jesse was peacefully called home on Saturday, May 11, 2024, in his 76th year. He was a man who could warm a room with his gentle smile, but had the heart and strength of a fighter. He battled cancer for nearly nine years, beating it over and over again. Throughout it all he maintained a servant heart and an engaging demeanor.
 
Faith and family were the foundation upon which Jesse based his life. His wife of 54 years brought him to the Lord and in that journey together they can be thanked for having led many others to Jesus as well. His family never had to wonder whether Jesse cared for them… he made it a point to show them every chance he got. Jesse was never a stranger to anyone and whether it had been a day or a year since he last saw you, he always greeted you with the same enthusiasm.
 
He was born January 8, 1948. He married his best friend, Phyllis, in 1969. Together they were the parents of five children, Tommy Slatton (Rachel); Tammy Slatton; Amy Holland (James); Brianna Robertson (Dustin); and Madison Slatton.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents. His surviving family members are numerous and include: his wife Phyllis, his five children; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three brothers; three sisters, as well as many nieces, nephews, and other family members.
 

Visitation is 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home.  Funeral is 10:00 AM, Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at the funeral home with Pastor Ray Fields officiating. Burial will follow at Edgewood Memorial Park. Pallbearers are:  Taylor Slatton, Tyler Slatton, Chapel Baker, Shane Curtis, Kaleb Shaw and James Holland.
