Jessie Lee Cogburn, age 87, passed into his eternal life on Thursday, December 18, 2025.
He was born on December 12, 1938, in Rosboro, Arkansas. He was the son of James Leslie Cogburn and Nettie Huggins Cogburn. He was married to the love of his life, Dollie Bell Welch Cogburn, on August 2, 1957.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Dollie Cogburn, his parents, his three brothers, two sister in-laws, Duel Cogburn, Doyle Cogburn (Ann), Tony Cogburn (Francie) and three sisters, and two brothers-in-law, Charlene Pate Morrison (Floyd), Linda Adams (Vernon), Edith Montgomery, and Bonnie Ball.
He was always proud of the many years he and Dollie were married, 68 to be exact. He told everyone the story of how they met and was sure to tell them how long they had been married. He attended many Churches but found a Church family at Circle Cross Cowboy Church, where he belonged and that loved him beyond measure.
He was a logger by trade. He loved hunting and fishing. He spent many of his early years hunting turkey in the beautiful mountains of the Glenwood area, and deer hunting was always a family sport. And let's not forget the untold amount of hours he spent on a boat seat at his favorite fishing holes with his bride, Dollie, who he gladly admits would always catch the biggest fish. Just this past Friday, on his birthday, he sat with his daughter at Bear Creek (his favorite spot), reminiscing about all the good times he had with his wife and a multitude of friends.
He is survived by his son, Rodney Cogburn (Donna), Billy Cogburn, his daughter, Glenda Wise(Ronnie), his grandchildren, Jacob Cogburn(Morgan), Amber Lambert(Jamie), Laura Tigue(Dalton), Meagan Sims(Michael), Tabitha Wise(Ellie), and Jonathon Boyd. His great-grandchildren, two brothers-in-law, Trillis Montgomery and Ron Ball, and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and a host of wonderful friends.
