Jewel William Koon, 90, of Ferndale, passed away on Wednesday, April 23, 2008. A U. S. Navy veteran of World War II, he retired from Rock Island Railroad. He was a deacon at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church for 50 years. He leaves behind Sue Bailey, a special friend for 25 years.
Preceded in death by his wife, Coy Koon, he is survived by his son, J. W. Koon, Jr. and wife, Lana of Salem, Virginia; granddaughter, Shelly Koon; grandson and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Christopher Koon; two great-grandsons, Matthew and Ryan Koon; and one brother, Lee Edward Koon of Ferndale.
The Funeral Service will be Friday, April 25 at 11:00 a.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Jason King. Burial will follow in Spring Valley Cemetery at Ferndale.
