Jewel E. Black Reynolds, 94, of Springdale, AR, was restored to the Lord Jesus on Wednesday, March 6, 2019. She was born September 8, 1924, and was a long-time resident of Beebe, AR. Jewel was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Robert R. Reynolds, her parents; W.C. and Luetta Black, 3 brothers; Claude, Roy, and Bill Black and 3 sisters; Lula Crossno, Irene Fuller and Jean McDaniel.
Jewel was a member of First Baptist Church Beebe. Jewel was also an active part of the community for over 40 years where she was a beauty operator and a friend to many. Jewel met her husband Bob in the adjacent community of McRae, AR. It was love at first sight for Bob, a member of the United States military home from duty, when he saw her performance in the local high school play.
Jewel is survived by her son, William R. Reynolds of Beebe (Anita) and daughter, Judith L. McCann of Springdale (Stan). She was Granny Jewel and Memaw to 4 grandchildren Britt Reynolds (Robin), Kristel Duncan (Craig), Courtney Moon, Casey McCann, and 6 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to honor and say “Thank you” to the entire staff at The Maples Nursing Home Har-Ber Meadows in Springdale. They lovingly cared for Jewel throughout her last years.
Visitation begins at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, March 9, 2019, followed by funeral at 10:00 at Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. Jewel will be laid to rest alongside her husband in Lebanon Cemetery.
