Jewell Christine Sorrels, 84, of Little Rock, passed away May 12, 2011. She is survived by her two daughters Patricia Ann Watson and Susan A. Walker; eleven grandchildren Michele Coy Toole, Dena Tripp, Tim Sorrels, Jeff Sorrels, Jimmy Dale Sorrels, Lisa Christine, Tisa Sorrels, Travis Sorrels, Randy Thogmartin, Maria Retena, and Ryan Walker; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Before she was widowed, Christine was married to the love of her life, Jimmie Sorrels, for thirty-one years. Her greatest joy in life after raising her five children was leading children to Christ. She was a long time member and Sunday school teacher at Westside Baptist Church in Fontana, California. She was a founding member of Joshua Baptist Church in Dolan Springs, Arizona that was started in her home.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, May 16 at 2:00 p.m. at Rest Hills Memorial Park in Sherwood. Memorials may be made to Hospice Home Care, 2200 South Bowman Rd., Little Rock, AR 72211.
