Jim Wayne Morris, 72, of Little Rock, Arkansas concluded his courageous journey with bulbar-onset ALS on April 11, 2026. Wayne was an enthusiastic talker, earning the nickname "mouth" during his high school years, and though ALS slowly took away his ability to communicate, he never lost his ability to show love and kindness to those around him.
Wayne was raised in Jackson, Mississippi, a proud alumnus of the University of Southern Mississippi, and a lifelong fan of the Golden Eagles. A convert to Catholicism in adulthood, faith became a cornerstone of his adult life; he greeted parishioners of Our Lady of Holy Souls for 30 years as a devoted usher.
He treasured his rounds of golf with lifelong friends and spent his final days watching the Masters with friends and family. His greatest joy were his kids, Maggie (Eli) Ross and Grant (Lauren) Morris, and four granddaughters, the center of his universe - Ayla, Arielle, Ophelia, and Sadie.
The world is quieter without him here and he will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him.
Visitation will be held at 6:00 PM with a Rosary following at 7:00 PM on Thursday, April 16, 2026 at Holy Souls Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM Friday, April 17, 2026 at the church.
