Jimmie Dale Shatsar, 50, of Sherwood, Arkansas passed away Friday, January 18, 2008. He was born October 11, 1957 in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas to Louise (Whitford) Shatsar and the late Otis R. Shatsar. He was also preceded in death by brothers, James Shatsar and Buford Oakley. He graduated from Walnut Ridge high school in May 1976. He graduated from (Williams) Southern Baptist College in May, 1978. He graduated from Arkansas State University in May, 1982 majoring in horticulture and computer science. He was a member of Alpha Gamma Roe fraternity.
After graduating from college he became an employee of the Arkansas State Plant Board in June, 1982 until it became necessary to retire because of medical disability in January 2006. He was a certified seed manager serving on several committees including the rice educational and promotional committee, and AOSCA.
He is a member of Park Hill Baptist Church and the McClellan Optimist club.
Survivors include his wife Linda Hutson Shatsar; children Caleb Shatsar, Adam Shatsar, of Sherwood; brothers Freddie Shatsar of Jonesboro and Eddie Shatsar of Cordova, Tennessee; sisters, Mary Culberson and husband Ronnie of Walnut Ridge, Connie Holloway of Barnhart Missouri, and Wanda Dabbs of Kankakee, Illinois, and multiple nieces, nephews and cousins. He is the son-in-law of Bonnie and Harold Hutson of North Little Rock.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M., Monday at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Ward officiating. Interment will follow at the Carlisle Cemetery in Carlisle, Arkansas.
