Jimmy Lee Copeland

 We regret to announce the passing of our beloved father, Jimmy Lee Copeland, aged eighty (80) years and one (1) month, birthdate of May 21, 1944, who passed away peacefully on June 21, 2024 in Jacksonville, AR. 

Jimmy Lee Copeland is survived by his wife, Mary Lois Copeland; three children, daughter Phyllis Kay Gentry (Jimmy Scott), daughter Marilyn Belinda Brown (Craig), and son Cary Copeland (Amanda); 7 grandchildren, Michael Allen Hall II (Nenita), Savanah Lee Blalock, Blake Alexander Lee Copeland (Rachel), “Kenny” Kenneth Merrel Blalock IV, Crystal Rose Ramos, James Austin Gentry, and Allison Shea Copeland; 5 great- grandchildren, Lillyana Mariah Hall, Brantley Allen Hall, Brayden Alvey Lee Copeland, Paisley Renee Gentry, and Mason Bryer Gentry; and sister Margie Cooper, brothers, Bill Copeland, Thomas Copeland, and Donald Copeland, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. 

He was predeceased by his parents Roy Lee and Lula Mae Copeland, sister Martha Hillman, and brother Franklin Dee Copeland.  

Jimmy Lee Copeland was retired from the City of Maumelle, where he had spent the last seventeen (17) years of his working career before retiring in 1994. Previous to that he was a ranch-hand for many years. In his free time, Jimmy Lee Copeland enjoyed mowing his yard, deer hunting, and supervising his son’s business Wildlife Illusions Taxidermy, which brought him great joy, and many funny stories. 

Jimmy Lee Copeland was a devoted family man, who loved his family above all else. He was a well-respected and beloved member of our community, and known for his good nature and loving personality. Jimmy Lee Copeland will be dearly missed by all who knew him, but his legacy will live on through his family, and friends. 

A funeral service will be held at Harmony Baptist Church, 870 Hwy 89, Sherwood, AR 72120 on June 26, 2024 at 11:00 am, with a visitation time beginning one (1) hour before the service at 10:00 am, with interment to follow at Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery.
