Jimmy (APCO Jim) Howard Golden, born on May 3, 1947, in Amity, Arkansas, and longtime resident of Okolona, Arkansas, was a beloved figure known for his adventurous spirit and kind heart. Preceded in death by his parents, William Reece and Bertie Holcombe Golden and son John Reece Golden. He served honorably in the Army and served as a Safety Officer for the United States Parachute Assn. Jim's favorite pastimes included gardening, fishing, scuba diving, hang gliding, parachuting, and dirt bike riding, each activity reflecting his love of adventure. He was an avid music lover, often found enjoying the sounds of Eric Clapton, Pink Floyd, and the Allman Brothers, embodying the essence of hard rock. His home was a sanctuary where he relished spending time with good friends, tending to his garden, and listening to his favorite tunes. Throughout his life, Jim worked alongside his parents at a service station and in a macrame and ceramic shop all in Arkadelphia. He also gained valuable experience in the pipeline industry and moved and set up mobile homes all over Arkansas. 

He is survived by his daughter Shelley (Phillip) Loe, and daughter-in-law Dandre Golden, as well as his grandchildren, Jesse Loe, Leslie Loe, Aaron Boyer, Ashley Holloway, Alisah Golden, Logan Golden, and great-grandson, Jaisen; sisters, JoAnn (Calvin) Diffee of Bismarck, AR , Vicki Hartsfield of Bismarck, AR, and brother Allen (Debbie) Golden of Caddo Valley, AR, along with nieces and nephews: Jim Karr, Susan (Will) Wesson, Robert (Mechelle) Hendrix, and Charles Golden. His lifelong friends, Gary Brewer, Louie Dughi, Joe Floyd, Mike McMasters and Stan Morman.

A private memorial has been scheduled for family and close friends. 

In honor of Jim’s beloved dogs, Rosie and Goldie, the family asks that memorial gifts be made to the Humane Society of Clark County, 627 Walnut St, Arkadelphia, AR 71923.
