Joann Sheridan, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on November 27, 2025, at the age of 90. Born on May 3, 1935, in Hope, Arkansas, Joann lived a life rooted in faith, family, and simple joys.
Joann’s love for the Lord guided her throughout her days, and she lived her faith with sincerity and grace. She had a natural gift for creativity—whether she was painting, crocheting, quilting with her church friends, or tending to her garden. She could often be found growing vegetables and later canning them with care
She and her husband, Wayne H. Sheridan—who passed before her—shared 73 years of marriage filled with travel, camping, and countless memories made side by side. Joann especially cherished her role as a grandmother, pouring her time, energy, and affection into her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were truly the light of her life.
She is survived by her children, Mike Sheridan and his wife Diane, and Linda Alford and her husband Philip and her nephew Clifton Sheridan (Julie). Joann was deeply proud of her grandchildren: Heather Moody (Brad), Courtney Lumpkins (Jason), Lisa Miller (Bryan), Krissy Cooper (William), Clint Alford (Hillary), and Jason Alford. Her love extended to her great-grandchildren—Matti Carpenter (Kalob), Harrison Moody, Jase Lumpkins (Lexi), Kayli Lumpkins, Ashley Statler (Weston), Kylee Emmer (Brandon), Logan Alford (Abby), Emilie Alford, Jordan Player, Joshua Haas, Lacie Cooper, Carlie Cooper, Jakob Haas, Jax Alford, and Sabrina Sheridan-Hatfield —along with her eleven great-great-grandchildren.
Joann was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne H. Sheridan; parents, Tom and Aretta (Garrett) Revis, and her brothers Mack Revis, Billy Revis, Tommy Revis, and Clyde Baker.
Visitation will be held on December 2, 2025, at Smith Family Funeral Home, 322 N. Market Street, Benton, Arkansas, from 9:30–10:30 AM, with funeral services beginning at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow at Lee Cemetery with grandsons and great-grandsons assisting as pallbearers.
Her legacy of love, creativity, and unwavering faith will remain with all who were blessed to know her.
