JoAnn Shope

Jo Ann M. Shope, age 82, of Arkadelphia died Friday, July 13, 2012. She was born January 24, 1930, in Breckenridge, TX. She was a retired school teacher, teaching in the Arkadelphia School system for over 30 years. She was well loved and cherished by everyone who ever met her. She was a member of the Pine Street Church of Christ. Jo Ann was very active in a gospel singing trio with Janice Adams and Curtis Garner. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Neil Shope.

She is survived by two daughters, Laura Anne Shope & Janet Lynn Dean; two grandsons, Bradley Neil Dean & Joseph (Joey) Andrew Bartsch and his wife Tara, all of Little Rock; her mother & father Viola & Barnell Maddox of Antoine; and a host of loving relatives and friends.

Services will be 11 AM Monday, July 16th at the Pine Street Church of Christ with Jim Buie and Randy Hughes officiating. Interment will be in Antoine Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-4 PM Sunday in Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Pine Street Church of Christ.
