Joanne Lee Ellison

Joanne Lee Ellison, 75, of North Little Rock passed away February 14, 2023.  She was the only child of the late Elizabeth (Frederick) and Howard G. Brucker.  She was a graduate of Illinois State where she earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology.

She loved planting and always had the backyard looking beautiful. She was very creative and loved to paint and craft. Joanne was very involved in her kids schools especially the PTA. She loved her Sam’s membership, Amazon shopping and spent many nights researching the racing forms just to bet $2 on the gray horses. She was a fan of all professional teams out of Chicago, especially the Cubs. She developed a love for the Razorbacks as well.

Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Dwain Ellison; children: Anndra Ellison and Darrin Ellison; granddaughter, Clare Ellison; cousins: Cora Larsen, Brenda Dickey, Judy and Butch Collins, Jan Collins, Marcia and Larry Gates. Nine brothers and sisters in law; Gerald and Barbara, Charlotte and Scott, Carolyn, Beverly, Lucy, David and Sue, Danny, and Mike; (preceded in death by) Doug Ellison and Christine Reeder. Numerous very loved nieces and nephews. Two additional dear “sons”, Don Wear and Sander van Eekelen.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 PM, Monday, February 20, 2023 at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home

Memorials may be made to Folds of Honor or K9’s for Warriors.
