Joe Landon, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on July 11, 2025, at the age of 77. Born on November 30, 1947, Joe dedicated a significant part of his life to both family and career, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him.
Joe had a fulfilling career as a plumber with Efird Plumbing, earning the respect of his colleagues and clients alike for his skill and dedication. His service extended beyond the workplace, as he proudly served in the Navy, reflecting his commitment to his country and community.
A man of many interests, Joe found joy in fishing, crafting, and woodworking. These hobbies showcased his creative spirit and his ability to find beauty in the simple things. He cherished the moments spent with family, often turning ordinary days into extraordinary memories.
Joe is survived by his devoted wife, Sherry Landon, with whom he shared 41 wonderful years of marriage. He was a loving father to his children, Sonya McConnell (Garrett), Tanya Clark, Jared Bailey (Sheri), and Jay Bailey. Joe was also a proud grandfather to Jaycey, Kylah, Gunnar, Adrian, Andrea, Brittany, Jared, Gracie, Jessiah, and James, and a great-grandfather to Colt, Kimber, Karlee, Noah, and Oakley. He is additionally survived by his sister, Mary Huff, and numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of wonderful friends and family who will miss him dearly. His legacy will continue through his family, who will remember him for his kindness, strength, and unwavering love.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Connie Helen Cook, and three brothers, Tommy Landon, Loyd Schuchman, and Carl Schuchman, as well as his sister, Susan Walker.
Visitation will be held on July 17, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Sulphur Springs Missionary Baptist Church located at 4350 Malvern Ave, Hot Springs, Arkansas. Following this, a funeral service will take place from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the same location. Interment will be at Price cemetery on Malvern Ave. in Hot Springs, AR.
Joe Landon's warmth, humor, and love will forever resonate in the hearts of those he touched throughout his life. His memory will be cherished and honored by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
The family has asked that no flowers be purchased.
Pallbearers are: Gunnar Clark, Adrian Edgin, Jared M. Bailey, Jessiah Bailey, James Bailey, Colt Edgin, and Noah Bailey.
