Joel K. Buckner, 82 of North Little Rock, took his final and most incredible flight at sunrise to be in his Heavenly home with God on Thursday, October 22nd, 2026. Celebration of Life service will be Saturday, October 31st, 2026 at 11am at his home church Lakewood United Methodist at 1922 Topf Road, North Little Rock with visitation immediately following. At his request, attire should be fun and colorful just as he was. In lieu of flowers, donations in his honor can be made to Lakewood United Methodist Church or to Ozark Mission Project.
Joel is survived by his loving wife of over 42 years, Debra. Together they raised four children who survive him: Andrew Buckner, Collin Callaway, Becca Wilson, LauraBeth Wilson and grandchildren. He would have celebrated his 83rd birthday on November 1st.
Joel was an extremely generous, kindhearted, hardworking, funny, man of adventure. He was a very successful real estate appraiser in central Arkansas. A proud Navy Vietnam Veteran, most of his stories had some basis in fact. He was active in many civic organizations such as Civil Air Patrol, Rotary, and Chamber of Commerce. As a lifelong, yellow dog Democrat, he proudly continued his tradition of early voting on the first day in the current midterm election and would strongly encourage others to do the same.
Countless memories will be cherished with a smile by all who knew him.
