Joel Clifford Clark

December 26, 1935 — February 17, 2022

Joel Clifford Clark, 86, of Benton, passed away into the arms of his Heavenly Father on February 17, 2022, having lived a life full of love and joy.  Joel was born on December 26, 1935 in Brighton, Illinois, the son of Clifford Clark and Vivian Clark.

Joel attended the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and went on to do work for Alcoa as an electrician until his retirement.  He loved playing pool, flying planes, riding motorcycles, playing softball, golf, and fishing.

Above all else, Joel loved God and his family.  Joel met the love of his life, Mary Yvonne Clark, in 1959.  They were married on March 11, 1960, and had two daughters, Cristy and Linda, to whom he was the most devoted and loving father for 61 years.

Joel is survived by his loving wife, Mary Yvonne Clark, and their daughters, Cristy Nolte and her husband, Michael Nolte, and Linda Kurupas and her husband, Gregory Kurupas; their grandchildren:  Lee George, Ashley Anglin and husband Scotty Anglin, Matthew Kurupas and wife Kat Kurupas, and Kelsey Kurupas; and their great-grandchildren: Morgan George, Caden Anglin, Laiken Anglin, Camden Anglin, and Sawyer Anglin.

Throughout their 61 years together, Joel and Mary loved nothing more than spending time together and being with their family, church family and friends.  Joel lived life to its fullest, and his family is forever grateful for his unconditional love, encouragement, compassion, wisdom, and the many wonderful memories he leaves with us.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
