Joseph "Frank" Mason

Joseph "Frank" Mason, age 79, of Hot Springs Village, passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2022.

He was born on October 6, 1942, in Pryor, Oklahoma, the son of Oscar Lonnie Mason and Bytha Morgan Mason.  On November 21, 1962, he married Shelia Keizor, at Oakbridge, Oklahoma.  He is preceded in death by his parents, one great-grandchild, David Cash Beaty; ten siblings, Louis Edward Mason, Henry “Bud” Joseph Mason, Margie Marie Cross, Claudis Wayne Mason, Gladys Louise Smith, Oscar Lonnie Mason, Jr., Arvie Alvis Mason, Ottis Mason, Duey Mason and Huey Mason.

Frank was a Christian and a member of Balboa Baptist Church.  He worked for Rainbow Bread Company for 30 years until retirement.  He was a golfer and taught many the game, was known as an exceptional photographer and won many awards.  He worked at Samaritan Ministries of Hot Springs, ministering to men and those in need and encouraging them in the Lord.  He was a member of the Friday Morning Bible Devotion Breakfast group. He was devoted to his sons and their families, which was his greatest joy.  Frank and Shelia traveled for four and half years in their RV all over the United States, Mexico and Canada, where he found he loved the beaches the best of all.  He was a kind hearted person and had a way of making each person he met feel special.  He sang in the choir at church and now he is singing with the angels in heaven.  He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Shelia Mason; three sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph Todd and Jennifer Mason, David Frank and Nicholette Mason and Anthony Shawn and Lesslye Mason; nine grandchildren, Justin Mason, Jordan Colburn, Kimberly Penn, Matthew Colburn, Britney Davis, Caitlin Breaux, Scout Forgey, Anna Mason and Jaxxon Mason; eleven great-grandchildren, Caler Davis, Corban Davis, Cannon Davis, Ben Penn, Henry Penn, Edith Davis, Emmalyn Colburn, Everett Colburn, Arlo Colburn, Kiva Colburn, Wren Colburn and Logan James Davis; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Riley Cecil “R.C.” Mason and Wiley “Wally” Jack  and Betty Sue Mason; several nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, April 23, 2022 with Denny Wright officiating at Balboa Baptist Church.
