John Bencick

John Thomas Bencick, 53 of Little Rock passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2009 at his residence. He was born on August 8, 1955 in Little Rock . John's sense of humor, creativity, and gentleness will be missed by all. Our hearts are broken. John was a produce manager for Kroger stores in Maumelle, a career that followed a long stint in radio broadcasting, where he was known as "Johnny B" for local stations. John enjoyed music, cooking and sporting events. He was an avid fan of the Arkansas Razorbacks and the Chicago Cubs. John loved autumn and the onset of cooler weather and fall foliage, as well as the holidays that followed, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. He was a member of the Geyer Springs United Methodist Church . Survivors include his parents, Vivian (Green) and John J. Bencick ; brother Larry (wife, Linda), Lauren and Lindsay, and a host of aunts and uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Agnes and John V. Bencick and Ida and Will Green. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 1, 2009 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Huson Funeral Home in Little Rock . Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 2, 2009 at Huson Funeral Home Chapel, with burial afterward in the Pinecrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Alexander. The family requests that in remembrance of John's "casual lifestyle", everyone dress comfortably for all events and celebrate his life at a time and means of your choosing. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Geyer Springs United Methodist Church or a favorite animal welfare charity. Sign an online guestbook at www.husonfuneralhome.com
