John Walker Burnell

John Walker Burnell, 91, passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2026 leaving behind a legacy of hard work, laughter, and an unwavering devotion to family.

John was the oldest of five children, helping his family on the farm as he grew up in Indiana. After returning home from supporting the Korean War effort, he met the love of his life, Lois. They spent nearly 70 years building a life and family together.

John spent his career in farm implement maintenance. He believed in working hard, giving 100 percent, never quitting, and always being early—values he passed along to his family.

Above everything else, John loved his family. He is survived by his wife, Lois; daughter Rebecca Wilson (Jimmy), daughter Terri Foree (Monty), son John (Brenda), and son Bill; eight grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

John will be remembered for his strength, humor, work ethic, and the love he showed his family throughout his life.

His life was a blessing, his guidance was a gift, and his memory will be treasured forever.

A committal service with military honors will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, October 2, 2026 at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock, Arkansas.

A family and friends gathering from 2:00 - 4:00 will take place at 100 Mountain Terrace Circle, Maumelle, AR 72113
