John E. Burton age 76 of Curtis, died Thursday, January 31, 2008. He was born September 13, 1931 the son of Corley and Mamie Purifoy Burton. He was retired from International Paper Co., a member of the Shady Grove Baptist Church and a U. S. Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife Myrtle Burton, two step sons, Jimmy Hurst of Bismarck and Russell Hurst of Curtis, one step daughter, Martha Treadway of Bismarck, two brothers, Richard and Roy Burton both of Camden, seven step grandchildren and 5 gtep great grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services will be 1 PM Saturday in the Furr Cemetery near Locust Bayou between Camden and Hampton. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Friday in the Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Twin Rivers Health and Rehab.
