John Coy Millwood

May 22, 1945 — August 16, 2021

John Coy Millwood, age 76, of Pearcy, passed away on Monday, August 16, 2021.

He was born on May 22, 1945, in Dumas, the son of Coy Millwood and Dorothy Rose Millwood. On December 2, 1972, he married Melonie Jones. He is preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Frankie Jo Millwood; two brothers, Roger and Harrison; and three sisters, Dolly, Ann, and Glenda.

A United States Army Veteran and a Southern Baptist were a few words to describe John. He was a life-time member of the Vietnam Veterans Organization. He was the best provider and deeply cared for each of his family members. The mean old grand-paw is how his grandkids would lovingly call him (a joke between him and his grandkids), each of them being the apple of his eye. He always wanted everyone to do their best and helped them along the way.

John is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Melonie Millwood of Pearcy; three sons and two daughters-in-law, John Coy Millwood, II, of Pearcy, Louis and Gina Millwood of Pearcy, and Paul and Missy Millwood of Marion, North Carolina; nine grandchildren, Travis Millwood, Cheyenne Millwood, Avery Millwood, Cody Love, Ethan Millwood, Andrew Millwood, Aaron Millwood, Heather Millwood and Dakota Millwood; four great-grandchildren, Monroe Millwood, Seris Millwood, Lilly Millwood and Magan Millwood; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Nora and Terry Denison of Yukon, Oklahoma, Dee and Mike Britt of Royal, and Delta Millwood; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

Funeral services will be 10:00AM, Friday, August 20, 2021, with Bro. Roger Reid officiating, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Hot Springs.

Interment in the Crestview Cemetery.
