John Hawkins

John William "Hawk" Hawkins, 85, of Conway, who has been called home to live in peace without pain with our Lord on October 1, 2012.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Anna (Wade) Hawkins; two brothers LeRoy and infant Hawkins, and his son, Johnny Lavelle Hawkins.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Pattie Mae (Chandler) Hawkins; daughter, Deborah Kaye (Hawkins) Sullivan - Jones and husband, Mike, of Colorado, three grandchildren, Christopher Sullivan; three great-grandchildren of South Carolina, Tammy (Jones) Gee-Lawrimore and husband, Sam, two great-grandchildren of South Carolina, Lisa Jones, two great-grandsons of Colorado, daughter, Charlene Tamara (Hawkins) Dancer and husband W.J. (Bill), three grandchildren, Joseph Paul Dancer and wife Chasity, her three children of Conway, John William Dancer and wife Vanita and their four children, great-grandchildren, Brooke, Ashlyn, Melody and Will Dancer of North Little Rock, Melissa Allison Dancer of Fort Smith; half brother, Wayne Smiley of Washington State; half Sister, Mary Juanita Dodge of Mabelvale.
He retired in 1991 after 43 years as a Carman (Harmony Lodge 6114) at Union Pacific Railroad. His enjoyment was watching westerns, wrestling with his two grandsons, Joe and John Dancer.
His family is very appreciative of the thoughts and prayers they have received. They ask in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to Alzhiemers/Dementa Programs of Conway or National Cancer society.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main, 758-1170. Online obituary and guest registry at www.nlrfh.com.
