John J. True

John J. True, age 83, of St. Louis, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, August 29, 2017. He was born on July 12, 1934, in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of George and Catherine Rose Ryan True. He was preceded in death by his wife, Aronia Cogburn True on October 9, 1993. He was also preceded in death by his parents; one brother, George True; four sisters, Anna True, Lucille Mick, Margaret Sullivan and Rosemary Crow; two stepsons, J. C. Whisenhunt and Cleve Whisenhunt; and one grandson. He enjoyed playing cards, poker and hunting. He is survived by his sister, Catherine Rose Pecha of New Auburn, Wisconsin; two nephews, Bob Pecha and his wife, Barb, of New Auburn, Wisconsin and Steve Pecha of St. Louis, Missouri; two great-nieces, Michelle Yeager of New Auburn, Wisconsin and Christie Pecha of St Louis, Missouri; four grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, August 31, 2017, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood with Bro. Eric Wehunt officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday, 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM, at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Fancy Hill Cemetery. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
