John Richard Johnson, 79, of Little Rock passed away Sunday, April 5, 2009. He was a charter member of New Life Baptist Church in Saline County, Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Ruby Johnson, and his father, Jimmy Johnson.
He is survived by his mother, Lucy Johnson; two sons, Rick Johnson (Amy) of Mount Sterling, KY and John Johnson (Janna) of Tomball, TX; one daughter, Becky Hart (George) of Collierville, TN; five grandchildren, Lauren Thornton (Matt) of Flowood, MS, Savannah and Colton Johnson of Tomball, TX, Taylor and Caleb Johnson of Mount Sterling, KY; one brother, Ray Johnson; two sisters, Mary Anderson (Wally) and Nancy Griffith (Curtis).
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday at North Little Rock Funeral Home chapel. Burial will be in Martindale Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Wednesday at the North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main St, 758-1170.
