John Paul Jones, 80, of Little Rock, passed away Thursday, October 18, 2012. He was born in Wynne, Arkansas to Luther G. and Nannie Porter Jones and retired as a wage and hour investigator with the U.S. Department of Labor. He was a member of Winfield United Methodist Church, where he was known as the "Candy Man". He and his wife were square dancing enthusiasts.
Preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and a sister, he is survived by his wife of 52 years, Louise A. Jones; daughters, Ann Elmer (Ron) of Batesville, Nancy McKay (Pat) of Fayetteville and Lynn Nicholson (Sam) of Newport; brother, Joe Howell Jones (Nita) of Virginia Beach, Virginia; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services with Military Honors will be Monday, October 22 at 2:00 p.m. at Winfield United Methodist Church, 20100 Cantrell Rd., Little Rock, officiated by Rev. David Hoffman. Visitation will precede the service at the church, beginning at 1:00 p.m.
