John Markham Roberts

John Markham Roberts, 73, of North Little Rock, Arkansas passed away March 13, 2023. He was born September 1, 1949, in Mitchell, Indiana to the late Shirley Austin Price.

John retired as a Sargent Major from the United States Army after 26 years of service. He went on the join North Little Rock Police Department in March of 1997 where he retired after 10 years as a Patrol Officer. He enjoyed watching and participating in drag racing. He loved to drive fast cars and always had the cleanest car in the entire of city of North Little Rock because his idea of relaxing was to detail his cars! NASCAR had become a recent favorite along with his first love of drag racing. John was also a Master Mason.

John is preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Ann Price and his brother, Jason Lee Bailey. He is survived by his wife, Yvonne (Wilhelm) Roberts; children, Jonathon Roberts and Tara Roberts Petain (Nick); grandchildren, Tyler McGowen, Seth Roberts, Edger Roberts, and Cassandra Roberts; brother, Kevin Bailey; and sister, Donna Grice; five nephews, two nieces, three great-nephews, and five great-nieces as well as his four spoiled rotten fur babies.

There will be a graveside service for family and friends at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery at 12:00 PM on Thursday, March 23, 2023. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to your favorite Veterans, Police, or Humane Society charity.
