John Olen Roberts, 81, of Alexander passed away Sunday, June 17, 2007. He entered the Army in 1944, trained at Camp Walters, Texas, served in South Pacific, was awarded the good conduct medal, two battle stars, purple heart, combat rifle badge and was wounded in Okinawa, June 7, 1945.
He is survived by his companion of 18 years, Patricia Jones; three sons, John Paul Roberts and wife, Donna, Mike Roberts and wife, Sherry and Chris Roberts; daughter, Margaret Dodd; sister, Dorothy Elder; eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Strickland.
Memorials may be made to Saline County Humane Society, P.O. Box 305, Benton, Arkansas 72015.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 P.M., Wednesday at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, 3500 West Lawson Road, Alexander. Arrangements by North Little Rock Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 758-1170. Online obituary and guest register at www.northlittlerockfuneralhome.com.
