John Allen Sage

John Allen Sage, 88, of Little Rock, AR passed away September 20, 2026

He was born in Forester, Arkansas on June 25, 1938. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca (Becky) Ann Ridling Sage; his mother, Dorothy Mae Stough Sage; and his father, Wallace Burrel Sage.

Survivors include his sons: David (Peggy) of Benton, Donald (Alan), and Michael (Karen) of Little Rock; two granddaughters: Leah Sage of Little Rock and Merritt Sage of Dallas; two step-granddaughters: Brandy McGee (Matt) and Crystal Stewart. Three step-great-granddaughters: Elizabeth Crites, Hannah Stewart, and Lydia Stewart; one step-great-great-grandson, Eli Crites; one step-great-great-granddaughter, Avery Napier.

After graduation, from High School, John attended the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville, studying civil engineering. It was during this time that he met Becky on a blind date, set up by his cousin, Julia. After a short courtship they became engaged on Valentine's Day. Upon graduation he began his career at the Arkansas Highway Department designing many of the bridges in Little Rock.

He enjoyed traveling, following the Razorbacks, being with friends at Asbury United Methodist Church and spending time with his family. Later in life he had especially good times at the Bridge House. The family wishes to thank Becky Burgess for everything she has done for the family.

In Lieu of flowers please make donations to Asbury United Methodist Church or the charity of your choice. A graveside service will be Thursday, September 24, 2026 at 2:00pm and a memorial service will follow at 3:30pm at Asbury United Methodist Church, 1700 Napa Valley Dr., Little Rock.
