John Stephens

John Robert (Bob) Stephens was received into the arms of the Lord on Saturday, March 11, 2017. He was born to John and Sarah Louise Stephens of North Little Rock September 12, 1948. He was a graduate of North Little Rock High School and a student of Arkansas Tech. On May 29, 1969, he married his high school sweetheart, Kathryn Renee Wilkerson, and spent the next 48 years building a life with her. Following in his father's footsteps, Bob was the owner and operator of Stephens Grocery until it closed in 1996. He also worked in other grocery stores until he retired in 2001.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents and younger brother, Randy Stephens. He is survived by his wife, Kathryn Renee and by his two sons; Robert Michael and wife, Stephanie Stephens of Springdale, and by Jonathan Kyle and his wife, Brandy Stephens, of Jonesboro. He is also survived by his brother, Ronnie and wife, Carol Stephens of North Little Rock, and their daughter, Nikki. Bob was also the grandfather of Chloe and Christopher Krumwiede. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, dogs and cats.
Bob was a man who loved God and his family very deeply. He was well loved by many, and will be deeply missed by those who knew him well.
Funeral services will be held at the Smith NLR Funeral Home on Thursday, March 16, located on 1921 Main Street, NLR, AR 72114. A visitation will be held at 10 am with the funeral to follow at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Calvary Baptist Church, located at 5025 Lynch Drive, North Little Rock, 72117. Online obituary at www.SmithFamilyCares.com .
