John Stovall

John Robert (Bob) Stovall, CLU, ChFC, passed away January 15, 2018. Born
August 3, 1936 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, he graduated from the University Of Missouri in 1958 where he was Vice President of his fraternity. After college, he returned to Poplar Bluff and started Stovall Construction. He met the love of his life, Joyce Kearbey, while she was cleaning his teeth and they were married for 58 years.

He later went to work for Equitable Life and transferred to Little Rock in 1964, where he was named Manager of the Year in 1974-76-77. He earned a place in Equitable's Hall Of Fame and was a Lifetime Member of Million Dollar Roundtable. He was also President of Lions Club, Life Underwriters, and Central YMCA.

Bob was an active member and Deacon as well as Stewardship Chairman at First Christian Church. He coached the church league's successful high school basketball team. He was a Master at Bridge, Black Jack and belonged to a Poker club for 30 yrs. He was known for his sense of humor and telling jokes!

Preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Lillian Stovall and sister, Betty Jo Kimberlin, he is survived by his wife, Joyce, brother, James Stovall, son, J.Robert Stovall Jr., daughter, Jennifer Predmore, and three grandchildren, Kayla and Jarod Stovall and Kirby Woodall.

The Service will be held at St. James United Methodist Church on Friday, January 19 at 10 a.m., officiated by Rev. Carness Vaughan. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. James United Methodist Church, 321 Pleasant Valley Dr., Little Rock, AR 72212.
