John Williams

John Lee Williams, 86, of Sherwood passed away Thursday, April 18, 2013. He was born March 16, 1927 in Arkansas to the late Lawrence and Elsie Belle Mothershead Williams. He retired from Union Pacific Railroad and was a veteran of the United States Navy serving on the U.S.S. Intrepid CV11 in World War II. He was a member of Gardner Memorial United Methodist Church and a life member of Elk Lodge 1004.
He is survived by two sons, Robert Wade Williams (Donna) of Niceville, Florida and Mark Williams, of North Little Rock; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and his sister, Elsie Marecek, of Sherwood. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Ruth Williams; one daughter; Diane Lynn Palmer and eleven brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday at North Little Rock Funeral Home, a Smith Family Funeral Home. Burial will be in Edgewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m., Monday at the funeral home. Online obituary at www.SmithFamilyCares.com .
